Nope. Jason and Chris will be the ones doing the haxoring, since they know what they are doing. Chris owns a Pro machine in his basement and Jason has been playing Pump longer than anybody, not to mention he made some of the stepcharts in Pro. I'll be pissed if you hax it and mess it up. For serious.
I don't know what I'm doing? Whatev. Although I will gladly leave the job to people that own/developed pump pro.
blackcat wrote:EDIT: Also, Custom songs will not work on the machine. The machine never came out with a patch or newer version that allowed you to do that. Soooooo, making 5 panel step charts is pointless. Just sayin'
I know that, but not pointless because the songs can still be played.

That would be me (and my cousin)! it was fun meeting and playing with you guys! also sup errebody. D:

some epic fails: 2 song limit, D&B uses the credit system so I'm not sure exactly, but it was around a dollar or more to play 1 round. also, zero fighting games? lame.

Also, is that yume in that picture? I haven't seen her in forever (save for that one time I randomly ran into her in Chicago...). and recently TaQa added me on Facebook... weird how I kind of got drawn back here.

It's true. He used to draw his own charts back in middle school, long before the game even existed!

Wow, that's crazy.

Then again, during my DDR prime (~2003) I used to draw the song banner for MAXX UNLIMITED obsessively in junior high, as well as those spike balls in the MAX 300/Drop Out video... I think I even based one of my art class projects on those things, haha.

ohai !

Yeah, they have some tricky deals. There's an eat and play deal where you get 10 dollars on your card if you buy food. I didn't calculate how good a deal that was.

Normally it's $28 for 170 "chips" and Pro is 5.8 "chips" for 2 songs.

So $28/170*5.8 = $0.95 per 2 songs

However, if you come on wednesday (1/2 price all day), that is $0.48 per 2 songs. Plus our waitress was really cool and brought us food out right to the pro machine. ^_^

And once you become a gold member it's cheaper than that.. I think you have to have used over 1200 chips and then you start getting the discount.

actually, when you have spent that much, then you would go to the front desk and they will give you a Gold Card, or something like that. At least that is what the website says.

Shane and I were over there last night. Pro is now 3 songs. Volume was a little weak amidst the bustle of a Saturday night, but it was fun nonetheless.

Actually, it wasn't so much weak as it was unbalanced...pretty much all bass and just a little treble. I could at least follow the beat, but I couldn't hear the actual melody especially well. It wasn't impossible or anything--just not as clear as I'd prefer.

I asked a tech for an adjustment, but he told me he was not allowed to do so. However, he gave me a couple of free games for the inconvenience and said he'd have someone look into it.

And then Shane hit the jackpot on the basketball game...sick!

When I was there it sounded like one person had turned the bass all the way up then someone else came along and turned the volume way down.

Yeah...that's what I was saying: too much bass, not enough treble.

I'm pretty sure the volume control is the same as the older SX and GX cabinets, three knobs: upper speakers, lower speakers, main. So someone just probably turned down the top knob rather than the main.

Overall, pretty good cabinet, albeit the sensors do feel not as sensitive as what I'm used to. The timing on the game itself is definitely harder than arcade pump which I actually liked speaking as somebody who was playing DDR/SM before Pump. The use of ITG difficulty ratings though is a bit weird.

Also, I played a set of Gaytar Queero (Ho's name for the cabinet) with Tim and that cabinet has quite possibly the most lag I've felt on an arcade setup in my life.

Actually, it must be some kind'a hybrid. The ratings are generally higher than I would expect on ITG, but still lower than PIU. A 13 on Pro would be maybe a hard 10, 11, or easy 12 on ITG, but it would probably be ~15-17 on PIU.

The timing is a little tighter than mainline PIU, but I don't think it's as tight as ITG and certainly nowhere near DDR. I seem to get about 10-20% more greats on Pro than mainline PIU on the same song/chart (when available).
