Purdue Memorial Union now has SuperNOVA

Post by LikeableRodent » Sat Jul 29, 2006 10:24 pm

Brand new SuperNOVA machine. The ITG2 machine is gone.

They also have a brand new Percussion Master machine sitting next to it.

Both are $1.

Have fun.

You can walk in and play. It's where the bowling alley is.

Unfortunately.

Tonight the alley was overrun with little kids, you know the really loud kind that jump all over the pads while you're playing and beat on the Percussion Master game... but only while you're playing that too.

I'm very curious about how well everything is in sync. I will be at Purdue on the 19th of August.

This would appear to be the first SuperNOVA in the state.

it isn't

you know it's really a shame, $10k was wasted on percussion masters & supernova. they really could've gotten some kickass stuff.

$10K?!

That wouldn't even cover SuperNOVA by itself...let alone the two games together. What are you talking about?

I'm pretty sure he means that whatever tens of thousands it cost, it should have been spent on:

Luckily, no.

All the games at Purdue (and IU for that matter) are owned by Mike Sales.

On one hand his ownership is frustrating, as after repeated attempts over many years and contacting many people we could never get permission to clean and/or fix what used to be a rapidly degenerating and unusable DDR/ITG machine, but then every once in a great while he surprises us with something amazing that no one expected we'd get (ITG2, SuperNOVA, Percussion Master).

On that note, I think I'm going to the Union. $15 in two days is more than I've spent on arcade games in the past three months combined
