Rascal's Fun Zone, Indianapolis

Post by Jeff Jeff Revolution » Thu Jun 22, 2006 4:02 pm

Rascal's Fun Zone (what used to be the Putt-Putt before some 3rd party bought it out) has 2 dance machines. I'll tell all I know about them, and edit in the future.

Dance Dance Revolution (Extreme?)
Price: 3 tokens/75 cents
Condition: A-, there's wear marks.
Typical line wait (Saturday afternoon): None

In the Groove
Price: 3 tokens/75 cents
Condition: A, fresh from wholesale.
Typical line wait (Saturday afternoon): None

Overall arcade rating:
6.5/10. There's mini-golf, overpriced go-karts, and the arcade. The arcade has typical token prices, but also features a pretty cool snack/ice cream stand.

Dance Game Hits/Misses: (+=pros, -=cons)
+Someone had the bright idea of putting box fans next to machines.
+No typical line
+Typical playing price, not $1 like some other machines.

-No DDR clubs.
-No season.

Overall, this is a good place to play DDR or ITG. There's 2 machines, decent prices, and typically no line. If you're ever near Washington St. in Indianapolis, try to stop by.

It's already listed in here

But thanks for the new information. It's more detailed.
Excellent breakdown of Rascal's.

EDIT: Nevermind. The information in the topic I listed is waaay outdated. I always play best at Rascal's. Very spacious and cool so you don't get too hot.

No problem. ^_^

I actually went back to play today. The token prices are 4/$1.00, 25/$5, and keep growing like that depending on dollar amount. It might get to 100/$20, if I beleive.

A few updates, if I may:

-DDR Extreme is the only machine with box fan, but doesn't look too hard to move 10 feet to right for ITG machine.

-Convenient water fountain, but located on complete other side of arcade. You might lose your spot in line after playing or something if somebody doesn't see you.

-No crowds whatsoever. I went today, which was a Friday evening, and I was the only one on the machines...except for a 3-year-old that stepped on the pad opposite of me.

-Raised roof. To quote XeroCi, the roof above the DDR/ITG machines is about 25-30 feet tall, so the room is usually very coolly kept.

A few things:
-25/$5 is the same as 100/$20
-Is the ITG an upgrade or a dedicab?

Are you talking about the one on East Washington? I've been there a couple times, it's not a bad arcade, and the token prices are pretty good. It pretty much sucks except for the dance games, though, from what I remember. I know they used to have Time Crisis 3 set up RIGHT NEXT to DDR and it was impossible to play when people were blasting around on that cause you couldn't hear anything.

Yep, that's the one. As of yesterday, the Time Crisis 3 machine(s) were right next to them, but they have the DDR Extreme machine volume cranked so you really can't hear anyone on the Time Crisis games.

Yeah I was gonna mention that.
The DDR Machine is so loud you can't hear anything.
+ that means it's tough to hear ITG, unless TaQa is there to crank it up a bit for you. xD
Can get ahold of me @spookyxcraig
