Keep in mind Brandon's experience with "charts" are limited to him playing three sets which amount to nine songs. Difficult to try and judge all on such a small sample of anything in the game.

Also it seems no one has mentioned the problem with the aspect ratio. The default for upgrade kits may be shipping in 16:9 (which I'll find out tomorrow for sure) so there's a chance by default the screen on your GX cabinet is off.

all look widescreen, maybe it showed up like that and instead of going to menu they used the monitor controls to compress it? Or maybe the screenshots don't go to a 4:3 ratio.

It's crushed on screen, very notably. The monitor has no clue what aspect ratio the signal you are sending it is intended to be displayed with, so it just uses whatever it is set to, which is normally to display things full screen. If you want, you can letterbox using the monitor controls, though it usually only works so-so. If there's a menu option in the software to set the screen aspect to 4:3, that's what needs to be set.

The kits are shipped with FX settings. To change the setting to 4:3 for the GX cabinets, you have to get to the back of the machine and hold SERV1 and CLR1 during boot. Both of these buttons are located on the green circuit board that is connected to the side of the MK6 computer. Once you are at the Mantainence Menu screen, there is a setting that will change the aspect ratio labeled "cabinet type". using the cabinet buttons to navigate, change the setting from "FX" to "other" and everything should look fine. You may still need to mess with the monitor settings a bit to get the screen to your liking.

I'll be sure to let Smidget know you don't think he's conservative enough the next time I talk to him.

just let the repair/tech guy know that, horizontal possitioning is just a small knob turn that takes like 1 minute

Actually, it's not a knob on the new GX monitor. That monitor has a OSD much like a PC monitor might. Hit menu, go over to horizontal position, and adjust that. Also, turn down both brightness and contrast, mostly brightness. It'll look a lot better, believe me (I <3 black).

Can anyone still confirm that PIU Pro is up there at Putt-Putt?

I'm considering making a trip up there soon, and this will be the reason I am making said trip.

Wow, I haven't been on here in a while.
