Unfortunately, I needed both hands for this:

Also unfortunately, I was an idiot and didn't think to take the picture until after I'd exited the grade screen. Anyway, first 8 star FTW.

Oh, and I finally AA'd V L7. Took me long enough.

And this makes 5 Another[7]s cleared:

The list now stands as (in the order passed):
  • Spin the Disc
  • Burning Up For You
  • 5.8.8
  • Sometime
  • Spooky

Good job on Love Shine, oddly enough, that wasn't my first 8 star pass (still haven't regular cleared it, just an easy clear, though I haven't had a chance to try in a good 5 months)

You should try One More Lovely [7], it may seem like it should be hard, but after a few plays it really comes off to be quite easy.

If possible try to get 3rd and 4th styles. Playing through them does really help improve overall precision.

Sorry to tangentialize, but why is this? Is the timing window narrower?

Having access to more songs does help in terms of learning patterns. Also, 3rd style was made as more of an introduction to the series than anything and it shows as it's the easiest style there. However, it does help in springboarding into harder songs. It's also one of the main reasons that I usually play through each style in order then start over again to get better scores.

Interesting. Note to self: try Amp's mix progression when done with the move. I don't think I'm good enough at IIDX to be a completist yet, but I can certainly imitate my betters.

In preparation for overthrowing them, of course...

Good luck on that, if you want a decent chance of passing me I suggest getting an Arcade Style Controller. I know Ho uses the Konami ASC and I got a DA which is the best in terms of pricing currently.

I have a Pop'n ASC, but not a IIDX one. It's been on the list of "things to get" for a while, but I haven't had the inclination to actually spend the money on one yet.

Yea, I don't recommend the Konami ASC one cause it just feels like a slightly upgraded KOC and costs over $500! There are people in the US now who make them for $200-$300 a pop and are much better quality!

I have neither... but the Pop'n ASC is much higher on my list than the IIDX ASC, particularly given that a doubles IIDX controller costs almost twice as much as the Pop'n controller. (Even aside from the issue of cost, there's the issue of return - you really can't play Pop'n without an ASC, whereas I'm already happily playing IIDX.)

And Amp, I have no delusions of passing you... not on 7 key, anyway.

I'm well aware of people making custom controllers. My Pop'n is a Ransai - 'nuff said.

We already know and we're already bloody jealous. You don't have to rub it in.

(And by 'we' I of course mean 'me'.)

Gasp! Arka made a grammatical error?

Should be 'I'.
