No time for Bemani, only time for Andamiro!

Yep! Only time for Andamiro.

(Actually, I have started playing some games as my schedule is starting to finally free up and my knee is now at the point where I can play again. At this point all I have access to is Pump though, but I wouldn't mind playing other games if the availability was there.)

Pump is more fun than DDR anyway.

Well, it's fun when the freestyle charts don't require ridiculous jumps. Been looking at buying a cab and getting infinity on it but all I have seen so far are DX cabinets. (Apparently, these are ten levels of broken.)

The DX stage isn't terrible afaik, though it'll probably be very worn out. The monitor (rear projection CRT), however, will be dead or dying, or, if by some miracle it actually works, will be badly burned. GX cabinets running modern hardware (Mk6) come up relatively often at ~$1500-2500, usually in good shape not having seen a ton of hardcore play (they mostly seem to be from FFCs catering to younger crowds).

But yes, 5>4 and 10>8, or so my edujumucation tells me.

If you see any good GX cabinets, tell me and I'll grab it and put Infinity on the sucker.

I have finalized the purchase of a pump it up cabinet and will decide shortly what version I will upgrade to. Should anybody know where I can purchase an upgrade to one of the newer versions (NXA and newer preferably) I am interested. As for hardware, this thing most likely has a MK3, but according to pump haven it's more than possible to build both versions of MK6 and both versions of MK9.

There's nothing special about the Mk6 and Mk9 PC, but you will need the IO board and breakout panel. Getting everything together and installed without the official case is kinda a pain (or at least ugly), too, but certainly doable.

As for getting the upgrades, just trawl eBay and the usual music gaming forums. Andamiro doesn't sell old versions, AFAIK, so the secondary market is your only option. Make sure that the hard drive is good; everything since Zero has been locked not only to the protection dongle but also by hard drive serial number. You may or may not be able to get the marquee style you need for your cabinet.

You can buy Fiesta 2 (with or without an Mk9) from any Andamiro distributor. It should drop right in to basically any cabinet, but make sure you order the matching marquee style.

Man, I wonder if Indiana has the highest rate of private music game ownership. Erryone has machines now! What, 75% of the active posters here have at LEAST one machine? Nutty. Grats Little Amperino!

Based on what you have mentioned, are there any distributors that would be recommended for obtaining parts and upgrades?

Well, Shaffer is (or at least was) the distributor for this region.

I recommend you use someone else.

Yea, I heard some of the horror stories about them so you are definitely preaching to the choir on that one. The best I'm seeing so far for fiesta 2 is $1735 with a MK9. If there is lower I am all ears.

New? That's actually pretty cheap. Even used, it's...not bad.

I have confirmed the delivery date as being in the morning of August 12th. The owner of the cabinet will be testing it before he brings it down here. The person in question also happens to be an arcade collector as well (I saw pictures of his collection and it's pretty insane.) so that gives me some confidence in most of the machine being good if he says it is. (The platform I'll evaluate on my own) Also, those interested in helping me set this up (and naturally playing on it after it is working) are more than welcome to come by and help.
