back to GH2 for a bit
Moderator: Moderators
I'm resurrecting this thread in because I'm taking time off from my primary hobby, hacking Guitar Hero, to actually go back and PLAY it a bit. This is to get me warmed up for Guitar Hero 3 of course.
Today I tried a little bit of the original Guitar Hero for the first time in a long time. Out of nowhere, I 5-starred Texas Flood and FC'ed Caveman Rejoice! This leaves only one song in GH1 to 5-star (Cowboys From Hell) and brings my FC count for GH1 up to 14.

I wish they would re-release all of the GH1 songs on GH3 or something with the better hammeron-pulloff programming, so the songs would be decent to play on Expert, as well as the speed mod.

SAME HERE! I was ten notes away from the "Blue Note of Salvation" today.malictus wrote:Passed Play With Me (from GH Rocks the 80's) with 4 stars and 83%. This leaves Jordan as the only song from a GH game that I haven't passed on Expert. ALMOST got it last night GRRR
I'm convinced I'm never going to pass that damned song, regardless of how much I like it.
I feel terrible today because my GH2 file got corrupted, so now I'm starting over again. At least it's one way to revamp my scores.

Looks like my best is 192,295 (barely 4 stars), but my last attempt was back in June. Maybe I'll try to raise that to 5 stars, along with Misirlou and Psychobilly Freakout. Although I doubt I'll ever 5-star Misirlou, since my hands simply don't move that fast.Flound3r wrote:What's your score on Six?

No way. I passed Six months ago. Jordan has been challenging me for the longest time.Flound3r wrote:Well I personally think Six is harder than Jordan, which is why I asked.
Also, Six has been FCed. Jordan hasn't yet. However, I'd rate Six as the 2nd hardest.
Song Difficulties (GH2 only, rated by hardest to pass) :
1. Jordan
2. Six
3. Hangar 18
4. Psychobilly Freakout

Nice, that was a pretty tough one. I got close to the 100 a few times, but then my guitar crapped out and I stopped caring =Pmalictus wrote:
Finally got through it without a miss (and with a good path to boot). Currently the 5th highest score over at scorehero (wii version); I guess I'm finally getting good at this game
EDIT: Played it once again just to see if I could 100 it, and I missed one on my sightread >_<
Heh, so I was planning on going to Bear's Place last night since I had heard there would be a Guitar Hero tournament there, but there wasn't. So, at the last minute, I decided to go to Jake's instead. It turns out they were doing the 'finals' of their weekly Guitar Hero tournament, but only one person from the previous weeks in the Expert division showed up, so me and one other person were allowed to compete anyway. So, I ended up winning 1st and getting this:
Not too shabby, considering it cost nothing to enter the tournament! Now, I just have to learn to play it
