15 months later....

New IIDX Arcade release forthcoming and the release of IIDX Infinitas happened so I was dead wrong on this. Too bad it's not worth it to get it to work outside of Japan currently, otherwise I'd buy a maxed out Real Edition Double from (https://www.gamo2.com/en/index.php?disp ... uct_id=323 has stateside shipping.) and mainly focus on playing 14 keys. I'll re-evaluate this though for the holidays potentially.

God, I would rather die than start playing 14-keys. Like, I'm sure it's fun and all and no one plays it here in the US so you'd be a special snowflake but I can't imagine the time you'd need to sink into 14-keys to get even remotely close to decent at it. 7-keys is hard enough as it is and people sink years of playtime into that and not even come close to clearing the hardest shit.

Like, going back to Light-14 after playing 7-key Anothers would just be so God damn boring and I'd feel like a cripple the entire time while I was trying to learn 14-key.

I <3 14-key. I'd rather be mediocre at 14 key than awesome at 7-key.

It didn't take me too long to adapt to 14 keys when I did try to play it back in 2007 and it did actually help me improve my scores on 7 keys, but each person is different. There are a few players, but you are right that like DDR's double play it wasn't really embraced by that many people.

Generally I am getting 94-96% EX range on Infinitas on anything rated 3-6 and it's obvious I have to do some work to be able to hard clear 11s comfortably again.

Also..... this happened. (I never thought I would live to see the day where I would AAA Gambol Hyper, but then again the same was true for Donald Trump winning the presidential election so what do I know?)

Double:
4th Dan on Infinitas and 5th Dan on Copula have been cleared.

Single:
Of all of my current unlocks, all but two songs rated 8 and under have been AAAed on Infinitas.

Played some Beet last night! I forgot how chill and fun 9s and 10s can be, I'm used to all the bullshit and grief that 11s and 12s give lol

My forearms are sore

I don't think I've ever passed a 9 or 10. They don't seem fun or chill to me. Guess I'm still a n00b.

You know, I wish I could back to those days, just sitting in my little basement playing Beet on a shitty cardboard modded JKOC, scrambling to put a towel up on the ol' CRT TV like an asshole, deciding which mix I'm gonna slap into my imported PS2, entering in scores on VJArmy, getting excited when I cleared a 7 or even a flashing 7 if I got lucky.

The Beet quality of life is awesome now don't get me wrong but nostalgia can be a real birch sometimes.

Hard cleared Scripted Connection (H mix) [A]

This hard clear always eluded me, fuck those jacks at the end! I still can't come close to clearing the A mix and it's probably the one 12 I play the most lol
