It's fun listing things we want to do. What are your 2014 goals?

* Lose 10 lbs of fat and keep it off
* Have home with presentable looking rooms and maintain it
* Bone down on a lady
* Make jams for to dancing
* Get a disc golf ace
* Not complain about things as often
* Fix up arcade machines
* Organize finances

Copy / paste from the Merk vs IndyDDR thread:

- Get back to 200 pounds
- Get my bank account up to $10,000 (about $7,000 away) -> This is $270 a paycheck. I might set it up so that I dump $270 into E*Trade every paycheck so I won't be tempted to touch it. In fact now that I am typing this out I just set it up so that $270 goes in bi-weekly at the start of the first paycheck next year (1/10/2014)
- Learn the telephone industry better and get to a state where I am self-sufficient on nearly all tasks. There's a lot more shit to being a SSP (Signaling Service Point) than just turning up customer and getting their shit to work. Lots of paperwork, billing, and FCC stuff needs to be done in the background and it's all a bit overwhelming since I come from a "Just get shit working and working well" background.
- Get into a weekly rhythm of exercise and studying. Right now I just sort of go home and sit around. I work better when I have a schedule and stick to it.
- Earn a MCT (Metaswitch Certified Technician)

Can't think of anything to add at the moment. That's more or less the broad goals I want to achieve over the next year.

Stretch goals:

- Earn my CCNA. There's no practical reason for me to get it now that I don't fuck around with Cisco stuff but in the event I ever want to jump ship this cert will open a bunch of doors up.
- Learn more scales on the guitar and be able to improvise better.

- Find a good job.
- Find a permanent place to live.
- Finally get married.

Yea, graduated college last week so the game has now changed.

Apparently the vendor of our phone switch is offering a certification program so I am going to add that cert to my 2014 resolutions. You gotta love vendor-specific certifications!

Wow, just looked at this and I got two of those accomplished. The third never happened though (Also was for the best honestly) cause that relationship actually ended shortly before the start of the year.

2015 resolutions:
- Play more Pump once I am able to get my cabinet upgraded to Fiesta.
- Buy house somewhere in the surrounding Indianapolis area that doesn't suck.

I failed miserably in all my resolutions but I did get my CCNA and save up a good chunk of change for a home down payment! I gots $13,000 now and I should have $20,000 by the end of next year to start my home buying journey. I know phone stuff pretty well I suppose and I can work my way through a SIP dialog to be able to figure out most if not all issues. I know the rudiments of SS7 but that shit is still kind of archaic.

- Still fat
- I studied pretty well but definitely fell off the wagon on an exercise regiment
- Metaswitch Certified Technician is a joke so yeah no point in getting that
- Guitar is still a mystery

How'd I do this year? Let's have a resolution rundown:

* Lose 10 lbs of fat and keep it off - Not even close. I didn't weigh myself ahead of time, but it's pretty likely I gained weight. I also stopped most physical activity, so I'm sure muscle loss came with it.

* Have home with presentable looking rooms and maintain it - The house is worse than it's ever been. This is a pretty big disappointment.

* Bone down on a lady - Done and done.

* Make jams for to dancing - My equipment collected dust, and I have a broken PC. No jams. No dancing.

* Get a disc golf ace - I played once this year. No ace.

* Not complain about things as often - I've complained more this year than most years. I have sand in my shorts.

* Fix up arcade machines - Nope. I still have the same projects and problems I did a year ago.

* Organize finances - I didn't organize nearly as much as I wanted to, but I did make a few small changes. I guess it's not a total loss.

2014 was overall a pretty crappy year for personal goals. There was a lot of backwards movement, which doesn't bode well for the future. I have a feeling 2015's goals will be less lofty and a lot more centered around fixing problems.

I don't know I don't think you complained all that much! I mean, you and I bitch about video games but that's fun and well-deserved.
