Hypothetical situation thread

I love this game. Basically someone lists a hypothetical situation (usually a choice between the lesser of two evils) and another person chooses which one they would pick and a reason why they would go that route over the other. In good form the answerer would post their own hypothetical situation which a different person answers and the thread goes on and on and on.

Generally everything boils down to nasty, depraved situations and we all have a good laugh over discussing the merits of eating Riot's shit (once and only once) and getting a million dollars vs getting a weekly stipend of $1,000 for the rest of your life (you don't have to work) but every time you have sex your lovemaking gets broadcasted live on national television.

It's stupid but it's fun and all learn a little more about each other. I'll start us off:

1) You lose all access to the internet for the rest of your life; or

2) You lose the ability to become sexually aroused for the rest of your life.

Thank you! I thought this thread could have a shit load of potential and I was kind of baffled that no one has made a post on it until just now. I think I started off with too hard of a hypothetical to be honest.

I would probably rather lose internet for my life instead of losing my peen. Neither are necessary to survive but not being able to fuck sort of takes away my humanity a little bit, you know? I lived the majority of my life without internet and it went just fine and I could probably do fine without it now. It would certainly encourage me to go out and be social and spend time with my friends more.

I mean, you could live with either choice, but your quality of life would be drastically changed with either choice. It would suck being on the wrong side of the digital divide but not being able to fulfill the most basic human desire would suck more.

I guess I should have specified that your libido would remain unchanged. I guess if you were an asexual atheist weirdo then the second choice wouldn't be so bad but then you'd have to live your live as an asexual atheist weirdo and that would probably be worse.

That is the saddest thing I've read in a long time. The internet is fun, but crushing guts is such an important part of being alive. Obvious choice.

Without internet you would have to be doomed to shitty non-internet blue collar jobs as well. You would probably have to either do factory work or drive a truck for a living.

Good luck finding porn too by the way. You'd be relegated to jerk mags and DVDs if you didn't have a girlfriend that gladfully put out. If you have a niche fetish then you'd be preeeetty fucked.

The later, although both would be pretty interesting. I'd probably go Asian since that's probably the least offensive to the Popo. As racist as it sounds, since I'm kind of looking for a full-time job I'd probably go Black since an educated black dude probably has a better chance of landing an interview to rich and racist business owners.

On the contrary, all living creatures are able to do the dirty, and resisting natural urges is the very thing that makes us human!

Think of how much more productive we would be without anything sex related. You could make the same argument for the internet, but then you would also be taking away the world's greatest source of knowledge and opportunity. The world wide web has paved the road for infinite advancement in society. Scientists can share data. Bodybuilders can post workouts. News spreads in seconds. You can take college classes at home. The possibilities are limitless.

Extrapolating the answer of giving up sex, I can only conclude that at any given point you would rather be using the internet than having sex. It isn't like the whole web would vanish, and even if it did, are we that dependent on it to be happy? Scholars, doctors, and inventors all did just fine changing the world without Facebook, Twitter, IMs, IndyDDR, free Dexter, Ebay, and Wikipedia. I'm sure people said the same thing about TV during its wonder years, and look how far we've gotten.

I wouldn't give up a mote of any of my five senses if it meant choosing technology over my one and only living body. Perhaps I'm simply less ambitious.
