I'm going to Taiwan
Leaving on Wednesday.
Hoping to play some Bemani and crap.
I made a blog here, so you can totally follow my adventures in a totally not-boosting-my-ego manner.

"I'm really looking forward to a more Asian-styled arcade experience in Taiwan getting a chance to play on cabinets like: Taiko no Tatsujin (太鼓の達人), DJ Max Technika, any Bemani game (especially IIDX or Pop'n), and anything else I can get my hands on."Pokebis wrote:Leaving on Wednesday.

This makes me wistful. Bemani used to be something new and exotic. Now it seems everyone owns these cabinets (except Taiko.)

I dunno... I run across a Taiko cabinet practically any time I'm in a large shopping center and can think of about six cabinets within two km of my current position.Fluffyumpkins wrote:This makes me wistful. This looks neat, I'll have my eyes glues to the blog.
"Also, I've recently become infatuated with the new My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic television series and fandom. It may seem odd since I'm a male teenagers that likes otherwise cynical, violent, and mean media and lifestyles so this is a bit odd. I'm also anti-moral in a lot of cases and the show kind of pushes lots of morals involving friendship that I don't completely agree with, but fuck you all it's an amazing show with unmatched animation, stellar writing, and a witty script."
Future serial killer in the works!

Well, I haven't gotten the pleasure of seeing any cabinets IRL except for the Beatmania 8th Mix in Tilt. I'm very sad that I missed out on the IIDX Gold cab at Great-X-Scape especially since it's the closest arcade to me.Fluffyumpkins wrote: This makes me wistful. I actually didn't realize how darkly I worded that until now, butMerk wrote:Future serial killer in the works!

Yeah the IIDX cabinet at GXS was flipping awesome back in the day. I've considered putting my Drummania cabinet in GXS once I upgrade it to V6 but I'm pretty sure Daniel, the owner, wouldn't go for it since there's literally no room for it at this point.
This is why we need an IndyDDR non-profit charity arcade that will inevitably bankrupt all of us. Rent, electricity, and wages surely don't come cheap these days! We can call it "Riley Haus" or something - where every day is a DDR-A-Thon.

Awww shit, bro. I forgot that people in the States don't yet use a civilized measuring system. 2 km is about 6,651 feet, 8 inches.
And to Pokebis: enjoy your stay in Taiwan!

I wanted to find a good image for "base 10 sucks" but the internet let me down.LikeableRodent wrote:Fluffyumpkins wrote:Metric system? Nuts to that.

If I go to another country and they say it is 28 degrees out, I'm going to pack a jacket just in case because I'm baka-gaijin.
EDIT: So I'm the guy sportin' coat in 82 degree weather. Stupid me. :[
