PM sent!

But Joe reminded me, I have played on that same machine in Louisville (Palatka arf ARF) but it was in a garage. The garage door was open but still, it had a roof.

It would have been neat to move it 30 feet and play under the great Kentucky sunset

Smartass.

It IS a lot of work. But it would be less work at your place than mine. The appeal of playing outside is that it's different. But what I was most interested in with starting this thread was hearing about very open, large public events...something that really utilized the scale of the outdoors. A party on someone's driveway isn't quite there...unless it's a block party for the whole neighborhood!

Actually it wasn't at Palatka it was on a cobalt flux in Chris Booker's back yard.

I would also be down for a fatties tournament with food and...food...

I have no idea who Chris Booker is but he sounds like a nice guy

We could always go on an indyDDR camping trip and play some DDR in the woods.

I'm sure Brian and/or Brandon has like a billion watt portable generator that we can use to power the TV and games. Or hell I'm sure Brandon can rig up some cables that would allow us to use our car batteries to power our shit.

And we can roast some wieners! Our wieners.

There are campgrounds with electricity, too!

I think playing DDR outside on a humid summer day at a campground with no shower and then sleeping in tents for a day or two all sweaty sounds like the least fun thing I can imagine.

But boy do I love wieners.

No dummy we would play at night where it's at least cool and maybe a little damp.

Good point! There is one campground that I used to frequent out in Brown county in my fraternity days the had campgrounds with electricity. A little place called Paintball Valley Ranch near Nashville, IN.

We could all wake up and play paintball the next day! Dibs on Amp's team.

'Sup guys.

Jumping in here to say that a few years ago, the Purdue DDR club set up DDR station outside so people could play between classes. As was said before, the biggest problem with playing outside on a nice sunny day is the not-so-nice glare.

PS
I would have loved to have been the guy on that arcade's float.

Yea, the glare was a problem on the truck as well, I ended up just telling the driver to not head in a certain direction.... and he ignored me and did it anyway... the bastard.

I had to have the brightness way down on my lappy screen so that the battery wouldn't die... then you mix that with the glare... and it just didn't work out too well haha.

I just happen to have a power inverter (actually a UPS) capable of running a couple arcade games...
A normality test:

If you are no longer connected to the internet, you need to apply more wax to your modem: it'll make it go faster.
If you find this funny, you're a nerd.
If neither of the above apply, you are normal. Congratulations.
