ughhghghghg

Guys I have an interview with Aprimo (the place where BigBadOrc works) today at 1:30pm. This honestly could be the one, I'm crossing my fingers, but as always there are no guarantees. I am applying for a support analyst position which is something I'd actually do well.

As of right now I'm not totally nervous and I feel confident, but I'm sure when 1:00pm rolls around that will all go out the window and I'll be fuuuuuuuuuucked.

I was told in an e-mail that the interview process will take two and a half hours. TWO AND A HALF hours. I have no idea how they can ask me questions for that long, perhaps something is afoot?

There are probably some tests or something you need to do on a PC.

TIMELINE

High school:
Played DDR. Picked Orion .78 Maniac. Thought the game was gay. Played BB$, thought it could be fun.
Friends got into it as well. Started playing on weekends.
Got decent. Second person in my group of friends to pass a 9.
Played in a tournament, got 3rd.
Discovered IndyDDR Yahoo! group.
Played a little bit more but interest waned.
Kinda stopped playing but still had interest.
5th mix came out at a different arcade.
Played some 5th, thought it was kinda gay that all the old stuff was gone.
Played a little, but not too much.
Former arcade got 5th, still didn't change the fact that the game was meh.
Decided to play in another tournament at the last minute.
Didn't do well, oh well! Friend's brother got really good and crushed the tournament.
Again, never really played, but still had interest and wouldn't pass up a chance to play.
Friends kinda stopped playing as well.
Nothing much really happened, and then Max came out.
Definitely did not like Max.
Started playing at the "other" arcade since it still had 5th.
Interest revitalized!
Started playing, by myself, weekly. All other friends stopped playing entirely. Friend's brother still played a lot.
Focused on getting better.
Another tournament came around. Didn't play, but I chose roulette for people. Ended up hitting Fantasy (6th) a bunch.
Kept playing 5th.
7th came out. Traveled to the Mounds Mall in Anderson to play it. Tried it, liked it, but had to play 5th since that's all I had.
7th came to Ft. Wayne, I forget who got it first, maybe PP? I'm not sure.
Started playing 7th. Really enjoyed it. But was too much of a fatty to do hard stuff.

At this point things really start picking up and a bunch of shit happens.

ON THE NEXT EXCITING EPISODE:
I meet some exciting people!
I rekindle my love with Riot!
IndyDDR!
Arcade drama!
DDR Extreme released!

Time will be wasted, make sure you keep hitting F5.
We need part 2.

If you need, I can pick up a power supply for you at Fry's before I come to Bloomy this weekend.

Well you can give me a call and see what they have there. Don't want no shitty one, want a good Corsair or something. But I have to test tonight/tomorrow.... borrowing Sam's old PSU to test, if my system actually works with that, then yeah I need a PSU, if it doesn't... well, my motherboard probably blew up and who knows what else. Anyways want to be my friend this weekend or what? You should come play Shadow Complex in a single sitting.

Guys I appreciate all the well wishes.

The interview went pretty well overall to be honest, I had a bit of a rocky start when they quizzed me over HTML since I haven't really had to sit down and write out HTML from scratch since like 2006 and I usually use Dreamweaver if I really need some HTML. But I really picked it up towards the end and felt like I did a great job answering most of the customer service scenarios they asked and I nailed all of their SQL questions.

Five different people interviewed me, one after the other, and I think I was able to impress four of them. We did indeed talk for at least two and a half hours surprisingly, mostly about myself (obviously) and about the company structure and the position. What kind of surprised me was the amount of detail they went with me into the benefits package, perhaps that's a very good sign? Aprimo comes off as an outstanding company and if offered the job I wouldn't hesitate to sign-on.

They said that they would let me know their decision towards the middle of next week via phone. Whether or not they follow through is in the air, but I am crossing my fingers!

We now play the waiting game...
