Blitz Day (the PC way of saying Black Friday)

Post by lgolem » Thu Nov 27, 2008 3:46 pm

Anyone doing any CRAZY sale rushes on Black Friday?

Myself, Kyler, and 2 other friends plan on going to Fry's tonight at 1am to sit out and wait for it to open at 5am. It has become a yearly tradition that usually ends really well. ^_^

Black I guess, Wal-Mart employees are apparently told NOT to call it Black Friday to call it Blitz Day or Blitz Friday....I dunno why, I mean it is not like we are calling it (insert really offensive N word) Friday. Oh well...

The "black" only refers to the general chaos and stress of the day like the big stock market crash prior to The Great Depression, "Black Tuesday." Alternatively, some retailers regard it as the day they get "out of the red" and "into the black," as in, they start to actually turn a profit for the year.

If you call it Blitz Day I expect there to be 300 yards of rushing, 1000 yards of passing, a series of 9 consecutive fumbles, late hits, broken knee caps, bad language, and a final score of 4-2. :P

I was in a line at Toys R Us for 50 minutes  But you guys probably don't want to hear about the Barbie dolls and stuff we were getting my nieces and nephews.

Oh, and later I picked up a (used) copy of Elite Beat Agents for $12.99; supposedly, it's for my kids (heh, heh).

Also, read this:

The 40" Samsung was $500 less, and a better TV.
