What do you do to make this world less suck?

Post by letshavetea » Thu Jan 24, 2008 11:22 pm

That vegan thread got me thinking, what do other people do to try to make the world not suck so much... no matter how small of an effort it is.... what do you guys do?

I'm a vegetarian... I grow out my hair so that I can donate it, and I donate blood... It's about the least I can do... and I was just wondering what other people do to help out.

I have a personal goal of not owning a car for ten contiguous years. I have 5.5 more years to go.

On a personal level, I'm usually not a dick.

I help the economy by buying expensive game systems and other electronics.

A little thing called the DDR-A-Thon. Have ya heard of it?

I'm not one to be all gung-ho about a particular cause or trying to fix the entire planet. I focus on living sensibly and being a good parent.

I'm nice to everyone even if they're really annoying, because I feel guilty about being mean.

The majority of the time that I go out I'm the designated driver!

I try my best to stick it to people that have everything and lend a hand to people that don't have enough.

-I volunteer a little bit in the community, mainly with some programs like "Neighborhoods Against Substance Abuse," that isn't necessarily gung-ho about telling everyone not to smoke or drink, but mainly just telling it to kids, which I agree with. I think that at the proper age, it's perfectly fine, but not as a kid. The stuff I do for the group isn't necessarily the "walk around and protest with signs" work, but the "help move some cabinets at the headquarters" volunteer work. I basically give my services for no charge.

-I typically let anyone who wants to sit at my lunch table or near me at school do so, because I get a lot of people that sit at my table that aren't necessarily "accepted" anywhere else. It's similar to what Riot said. They probably annoy me just as much, but I don't show it.

-I also have this standing rule with my friends that they can call me anytime, and I'd pick them up anywhere if they were drunk/stoned/bombed, etc. I promise a no questions asked policy about what they did, but I'll always pick them up. However, I've yet to get any calls.

-I also donate blood about once a year.

I make this world better because I'm a bounty hunter.
I really love CS:GO's 64 tick servers.
