Best Music Game Artist

Post by Fluffyumpkins » Wed Nov 28, 2007 3:25 pm

Name your top 3. I'm not picky or anything, so older artists are fair game.

EDIT: Other non Konami artists are fair game as long as it is a music game in question. Banya, KaW, Dj Potato... all fair game.

1. Good-Cool. I was listening to some older stuff today, and it is some of the funky freshest stuff ever. Perfect for DDR, IIDX, or just hanging out.

2. SOTA. Trance doesn't get any better than this.

3. Mr. T. Crazy catchy songs. All of 'em.

Honorable Mention

RAM. Sure, he didn't do a lot, but the few songs he made were really great. His songs are generally the favorite of any mix they can be found on.

No specific order:

TaQ
Ryu
Vospi (not really in any music game, but his songs are in a lot of stepfiles and I really like his stuff)

Ooo, me next! So many to choose from...

1. TaQ. From dark and brooding, to catchy and fun, TaQ has consistently been my favorite Bemani artist.

2. Akira Yamaoka. Besides phenomenal OSTs for other Konami games, he does some of the most memorable (and unique) music for Bemani.

3. Mr. T. So many good songs, and pretty much anything Electroshock is great.

Honorable mentions: kors k, for rockin' the house, and good-cool, for all the reasons Chad said.

BTW...this is being moved to Conversation Cornucopia where it belongs

1. Kyle Ward. (Here comes the flaming. I really like his music. Some people like chocolate more than others do, and I prefer his music for some reason more than other artists.)

2. Banya. I rarely play Pump, but when I do, it usually stays on the Banya channel.

3. His music is alright, but for some reason Captain Jack was always one of my favorites before he passed away.

1. Kyle Ward
2. Banya
3. Captain Jack

KaW was what made ITG great, Banya's music kicks ass, and Captain Jack was part of what pioneered Bemeni (starting with DDR) stateside.

Edit:I just realized my list is identical to Jeff's. Touche!

In no particular order, Kyle Ward (especially as KaW), TaQ, and Naoki (can't believe nobody's said it, like 90% of DDR music is his!).

Honorable Mentions: good-cool for sure, Captain Jack, BanYa, and Vospi

1: Nekomete Master
2: Inspector K
3: Banya

Nekomete Master makes great freaking music: Sayonara Heaven, Beyond the Earth, Into the Eden...all his music feels like it could be synced with a Dragon Quest game makes me want to go on an adventure.

Inspector K: Infection....that is all I have to say

Banya: from pump it up 1st dance floor with Final Audition to the hidden song of Fire on NX, who ever banya is he or she kicks ass

I thought BanYa was the collective name for Andamiro's music creation group? i.e. It's a bunch of people.

EDIT: Yep.

Yeah, I wasn't that sure, all I know is that Yahpp (who is one person) split off from banya.

1. TaQ - Some of the best stuff out there. Favorite songs are Abstract (Radical Mix) & Quasar (alongside w/ DJ Taka as Outphase)
2. Mr. T. - There are no songs of his I don't like. None. All of it is good stuff. Favorite songs are Vault of Heaven & Zero One
3. Ryu - Love Happy Hardcore and other stuff by him. Favorite Songs - Ageha & Harmony & Lovely

Horanble Mention - DJ Simon - His collection isn't vast, but I love it all. Best two songs are Klungkung 1655 & Homesick Pt. 2 & 3
