Hell I bet you can get the PNG under 5k by just getting rid of the unnecessary anti-aliasing and dropping to a 4 color palette.

Amusingly (but unsurprisingly, on this content), the JPEG is larger. A whopping 3.2k (but under your 5k challenge).

That is literally the worst I could make it look using just JPEG compression with all the options GIMP offers. That's quality 0, fast-integer DCT, and the lowest-quality chroma subsampling offered. I especially like that most of the traces completely lost their color, and the one that kept it has a humongous yellow shadow artifact. Did my taxes yesterday and I'm getting roughly $1,100 back that the gubmint stole from me. All those mortgage interest payments add up!

Yeah I should remove one of my exemptions or something, I dunno, I have plenty of dollars I don't know what to do with and the surprise $1,000 "bonus" is nice since it cancels out some expenses this year like car insurance that I pay in a lump sum every six months.
Horrible logic, I know, I lose out on the opportunity cost of having money now instead of later but I like receiving fat stacks from the gubmint God damn it!
