Charlie and the Chocolate Factory trailer...

Well, I'm a huge fan of the original movie and the book, so of course I'm excited about this movie. But the trailer leaves me a bit cold. First of all, for a movie that's supposed to be more like the book, less like the original movie, these scenes sure look a lot like scenes from the first movie. Second, with Tim Burton at the helm I was hoping for something dark and mysterious, and this preview doesn't really show that at all.

Thoughts?

Johnny Depp is 10 pounds of creepiness stuffed in a 5 lb bag....

I always liked Gene Wilder as Wonka.
(God Rest His Soul)

But it looks kinda interesting. Cant be anymore of an acid
trip than Cat In The Hat was....

Maybe it will be dark and scary, and the preveiw is suppose to be some sort of mockery.

I mean, how scary can you make a preveiw for something with the word "Chocolate" in it anyway?

I found it kinda creepy, actually, in one of those "we're so super happy that you know we're up to something" ways...

But maybe the movie will be good. Can't beat the original, though.

Personally, I thought the trailor sucked but I am a Johnny Depp fan. I've enjoyed all his movies and I liked the chocolate factory movie. Not something I'll go see in theatres tho. I'll be waiting for DvD.

I own the original movie on DVD and watch it (I dare say) more than occassionally.

Am REALLY looking forward to the new movie, regardless of how it ultimately turns out.

I wish I could watch the trailor posted, but I'm on 56k and it would rape my systemz royally, kthx. <3

Will have to catch it later when I get on wireless somewhere.
No more eggs! :D
An actual signature will come soon, I suppose.

I own it on Lazerdisc. Aww yeah. *brushes off shoulders*

Yes, I too was a big fan of both the movies and the book, and Johnny Depp/Tim Burton are particular favorites as well, so I'm looking forward to this. Unfortunatly, I never use WMP, so it'll be a while before all the codecs download... T_T
Signatures sure are awesome.

The song in that trailer is *horrible*. I'm sure I'll see the movie eventually, but man that trailer doesn't particularly make me look forward to it.
