I'm pretty sure it's either stop-cap motion or he took a picture of every possible light position and just chopped them together. I doubt he set up precision timers on every strand of lights to do that.
I really love CS:GO's 64 tick servers.

um, no. Its actually pretty easy to do that with a couple grand. hes using a protocol called dmx, used in stage lights and light shows. all he would have to do is hook each strand into a relay pack and plug in a music source.

and

a few of http://www.centerstagelighting.com/cgi- ... 4&lg=&mt=3

is all he would really need.

No need to spend multiple kilodollars to get that. Walk (don't run!) to Fry's and get yourself some triacs (and I'd recommend some optoisolators, and you may need some small signal transistors to buffer things) and you can run 12 channels directly off your parallel port (and with a little work, get all sorts of dimming going as well, since that's host most light dimmers work anyway). With an addressing system, you could expand to however many channels you need.

Now, some may find it easier to drop the couple grand, but I personaly enjoy keeping my silly thingsl ike that under $100, especially after buying engineering textbooks...
A normality test:
+++ATH
If you are no longer connected to the internet, you need to apply more wax to your modem: it'll make it go faster.
If you find this funny, you're a nerd.
If neither of the above apply, you are normal. Congratulations.

With this topic name, I figured we'd be talking about The Critic, or perhaps a bit o' Wonder Showzen. Alas, I was mislead, very un-greatest show never.
Signatures sure are awesome.

Well, they definitely don't live in this state and I don't think anybody would be allowed to do this kind of stuff here!
