Re: Cycling Japan's Abandoned Rails: A video series by me

The "Flower Stationmaster" basically seems like a badass.

Also, the snowplow train footage was pretty cool. Didn't know there was such a thing.

Looking forward to the next one!

Re: Cycling Japan's Abandoned Rails: A video series by me

Beautiful shot at 4:20. Thanks for the update; I look forward to the next one!
Also, the story of Randald MacDonald's life is pretty fascinating. So thanks for tipping me off to that.

Re: Cycling Japan's Abandoned Rails: A video series by me

Wow, this was really compelling and highly enjoyable; I watched it straight through without interruptions. Despite tending to like this kind of niche thing, I have no special interest in abandoned rail lines, but your enthusiasm for the quest definitely came through in the video. That's most of what...

Re: What is real life like?

Yeah, I agree with a good deal of what you guys have said. Some of it I I'm inclined to concur with outright, and some of it I'm more reluctant to accept, even though I get the sense that it's pretty accurate-- if a bit bleak-seeming to the yet uninitiated to real life. I guess I'd like to hope that...

Re: What is real life like?

Some of this is really insightful though, good stuff Merkler. I second this, and implore any other willing parties to share their real life experiences with the privileged middle class youth of IndyDDR. Btw, I am also interested in what it is specifically that people do for work, in case anyone's w...

Re: Hi everyone! I'm Max in Bloomington...

Heh, yeah. Truth be told, my enjoyment of games in general has waned a bit recently, but if I ever feel up for GXS I'll try to head over there on Thurs./Fri. afternoon as per http://www.indyddr.com/forums/viewtopic ... 961#p84314 .

As much as I like pump, this is True Facts. Excellent description Merk... because that's all I hear even when I'm the one playing XD.

Re: Fluffy I'm calling you out: WTF is a Moon Bike?

I say we should do the song "Moon" this week. I would try to find the banner and stuff to use, but I am tired and about to pass out nao. lol.
So I just decided to play this today (well, now yesterday), and got.... 22. hahahahaha.

Re: Hi everyone! I'm Max in Bloomington...

Though the first time I played a rhythm game at an arcade was only 2008 (ItG), the impressiveness factor seems to have stayed pretty constant since then. I dunno. At GXS at least, people tend to glance over if someone plays a fast, loud (most importantly) Pump song on both panels. As for DDR, it's h...

Re: Great X Scape, College Mall, Bloomington

Hahaha, well there are probably girls out there named Maxine that go by Max, but I am in fact a guy. I don't think I saw you there Merk, I was only at GXS from around 5 or so until they closed at 6 (and I didn't play any DDR). anime backpack full of what looked like DDR gear O.o How much gear do you...

Re: Great X Scape, College Mall, Bloomington

Yeah, I haven't seen Amalgamy here in a while (though that doesn't mean he's not around)... it's probably been around a year, though I don't remember. Pretty sure epicfail is him too. Once, I saw him do whatever it is you do in DDR to get two bonus stages. I think the first one scrolls in reverse an...

Yeah, thanks. I don't play much other than ItG and PiU, though Beatmania would be interesting as I've never tried it.
